COMPETITIVE SPRING/SUMMER LEAGUES

PYSA Competitive Player Information

Players with PYSA range in age from 8 years old up to age 18. We have offered Under 9 (U9) teams up to Under 19 (U19) teams in the past.  Teams are gender specific.  Each year we have increased our player numbers and have been able to offer more levels of play, and additional off season opportunities to keep our players engaged in building their soccer skills.

PYSA Competitive League Information and Time Commitment

The Spring/Summer Competitive Soccer season starts about the middle of April.  The snow really plays a big role in when we can get out on the field.  We play all of our games through Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).  The MYSA season starts the last week of April and goes through the middle of July.  There are typically 10 games, half of which are at home and the other half typically in the north metro area.  There are some teams that may have to travel to the Duluth area during the spring/summer competitive soccer season.

Competitive Soccer Teams typically practice 2-3 times a week. Player expectations and practice schedules are set by the coaches.  Typically practices are during the week after 6:00 pm and sometime on Sunday evenings.  Games are usually played during the week.

PYSA Competitive League Level Costs

The cost to participate in spring/summer competitive soccer league is $300.  There is also a uniform fee.  The uniforms are on a two year cycle.  New uniforms will be available for order in 2024.

There will be new uniforms for the 2024 spring/summer season.  If you are new to PYSA for fall 2023, or are a current PYSA player missing part of your uniform or need additional socks you can contact Tim Donnay.

PYSA Field Location:

PYSA will be playing on the SOCCER FIELDS behind the Primary/Intermediate Schools throughout the 2024 soccer season.

Additional PYSA Competitive League Time Commitments & Costs:

Each competitive team is also allowed to play in one tournament of their choosing. One tournament registration "team fee" is paid for by PYSA (this does not include the "individual player fees" for any tournament)

The coach for your team has to set up the tournament and has to be available to coach during said tournament.  There are occasions where it does not work out for a team/coach to participate in a tournament.

Please note, if you choose not to participate in a committed tournament, there will be no refund of your player fee.

If a team wants to play in more than one tournament they can do so but PYSA only pays for one requested tournament per year.  Tournaments are played on the weekends and sometimes include a Friday.

COMPETITIVE FALL LEAGUE

Competitive Fall League is a much more relaxed version of Competitive Spring/Summer Soccer.  U9-U14 Teams are formed.  PYSA recommends that those in grades 7-12 commit to playing for the Princeton Middle School and Princeton High School soccer teams.  MYSA does not provide teams for U15 and over.  The season starts the Saturday after Labor Day and continues for about 5 weeks.  Each team plays between 5-6 games on Saturdays and Sundays.  Games are usually not played before noon on Sundays.  Coaches will schedule practice for the team.  Each team will practice 1-2 times each week.  Practices during the week should be after 6:00 pm.  There is a state fall tournament that each team can elect to participate in for U11-U14.  This will add an additional weekend to the schedule, and cost each player an additional fee.  The fee for Competitive Fall Soccer is $125 and does not include the jersey or any tournament/player fee's.  If you played Spring/Summer Competitive we will use the same jerseys that were used for that season.  Jerseys are on a two year rotation and can be purchased through Tim Donnay.
